Last week of class

Well class went by quick. I will miss this class. I learned so much and have been through so much. I will miss everyone. The professor was awesome..... This was probably my favorite so far. I will take the knowledge and hopefully be able to apply it in my future classes. I wish eveyone the best and hope to see you in future classes.

Assignment

Discuss any issues you have had throughout the process.
I sure wish we would have started out a discussion group of our own. Maybe on skype. There are a lot of talented writers. I wish I could be one. I am a pretty boring person. This experience has helped me to see how others think and write. It was an awesome experience.

• How do you feel about the comments, or lack of comments, that have been made to your blog posts?
Well my blog was pretty boring considering others. I wish I would have wrote more on others bogs.

• Do you plan to continue your blog even after the course?
I think I am going to and I will post it on my facebook.

Peer reviews

How do you feel about peer reviews?
I believe peer reviews can be helpful and due to the fact it is not the professor, we can get a fresh perspective.
What have your experiences with them been like?
No one has done mine yet, and that makes me sad.

• Discuss any “Ah Ha” moments you have had during the writing process or in your research.
Being corrected on the APA format, even though I was right that it was incorrect, I was still wrong with the correction.

• Is there anything that you have found shocking or intriguing in the process or your research?
Just how difficult APA format is.

• Look at your peers’ blogs and link to one of their responses in your own take on the idea.
Not sure I understand this but I can try.

Last 6 weeks

Everyone is well aware my past 6 weeks were horrible. School seems to be the only normal thing going for me. Losing my brother was hard but my son is proving to be a the hardest. Just when I believe I can handle it I start crying all over again.
My paper is coming along but I start thinking of new things to add so I need to stay focused. I try to refer to my notes I even tried the bubbling but I guess I am old school. Take care all I will update I have so much work to catch up on.

I think my research could be useful to parents of teenagers especially if they notice warning signs I have a lot of helpful information including coping skills which I find very helpful.

Assignment

My personal writing style would have to be freewriting and an outline. I like writing all of my ideas and any questions I may have and want answered. Then I make a rough outline and fill in any blanks.
My academic challenges to this point is having to do 2 seperate essays and all the changes with APA formatting.
School has not only infuenced me but my adult children as well. My daughter is now taking Health Information. My life has really taken a turn for the better.

assignment.....

We cite our sources for a few different reasons. I would hope that we cite to give credit and to inform the reader who wishes to look up more information or to see other things from that author. Another reason is if there was misinformation whose fault it is.

I have actually had some people on flicker use some of my photography. I was not happy about it but I do watermark my work now.

I am not aware of any real world plagerism issues, although I am sure it happens. I would hope the person who actually wrote would prosecute though.

I don't think the internet blurs the line, it boldly crosses it everytime. This is the world we live in and you really can't catch everyone that does it. Somehow we just will need to see it as a form of flattery as long as it doesn't hurt someone or if it is really that bothersome than maybe a lawsuit may be needed.

Good Bye Brother Bill..............

William E. Long, Jr.
November 3, 1956 – July 23, 2010

William E. Long, Jr. (Bill) passed away unexpectedly at Waukesha Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 23, 2010.

He was born November 3, 1956, in Fullerton, California. Grew up in the Eagle area and Waukesha. He attended Eagleville Grade School and St. Theresa’s Grade School and graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1973.

He was a caring, loving father of Michael DePriest (Misti Wandschneider) of Wales, Larynn Ferree (Billy) of Waukesha, Karleen Garcia (Lorenzo) of Hartland and Corrine Long (Mario Sanchez) of Waukesha.

As the first born, he will be sincerely missed by his surviving mother, Arlene Phillips (the late Jack Phillips) of Pewaukee, formerly of Waukesha.

He was a great brother to Sharron Stolpa (Steve) of Waukesha, Karee Memmel (Scott) of Waukesha, Kimberly Parks (Gene) of Kenosha, David Long (Christine) of Waterford and Misty Thoma of Waukesha. He will always be remembered by his siblings, as their “Protector”. A mountain of a man, who seemed to always be there when they were growing up.

Bill adored his grandchildren, Ryloi DePriest, Tadashi Garcia, Taija Garcia and his unborn grandson, Haruki Garcia, due in September.

He is further survived by niece Sarresa Hrenak (Michael), niece and God-daughter, Shanna Hanusa (Jason) and nephew Tyler Thoma, all of Waukesha. Also, the mother of his children, Linda DePriest and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Phillips and nephew Sean Bryan Phillips Thoma.

Even though Bill lived a pauper’s life, he was rich with family who loved him and who he loved as well. Bill was a prolific reader, always expanding his knowledge. He loved antiquing, finding treasures everywhere. He was a great artist as well, sharing his art work with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a brief “remembrance” service at 6:00 p.m., at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at Highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), in Waukesha. A private burial will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2010, at Jericho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Bill’s family would like to express our immense gratitude to the Doctor’s and Nurse’s in the Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for the non-stop effort and care given to Bill to try and save his life. You are all “Angels on Earth”. Thank you all.

Final Project

I feel my thesis is a little choppy. I want my paper to go in the direction of how depression and suicide in teenagers can be helped with proper coping skills. I have worded and reworded several times. I know that domestic and psychological abuse is hard for teenagers to deal with but the wording is soimportant to get my message across.

A New Day

I am going to stay busy with homework. Being a weekend warrior is very helpful to keep my mind off everything. The teenagers are all out doing their thing so I am home alone and loving it. I am going to try to post some new pics....Thanks for reading, this is actually very relaxing to write down all the little things I just might keep this up after our class is over.....

Saturday

This day is suppose to be my day for homework. However teenagers have this unique ability to change my plans. I will be a taxi service for pretty much today, but tonight I will be able to slip away, and of course this morning is mine as well since the little darlings get to sleep in until 10am. The joys of parenthood.
I am really beginning to like the idea of having a blog. This is giving me freedom to vent. I feel sorry for everyone having to read my whinjng though. I am sure something terrific will happen and I will share that as well.

my husband and I

We met on Yearbook. We clicked immediately. Life has been so great I can't imagine my life without him.
Some women from other sites seem to not get the fact we married and this part makes me a little indifferent.I hope someday to be able to work from home since he is a truckdriver and I could be with him. NOT 24/7 just sometimes like maybe a run to MN would be fun and I could still work out of the truck.
